Index

You are going to create a new index file, which will begin to serve as the main jumping-off point for all your work. When a browser is directed toward a generic internet folder, it searches for a file called index.htm (or index.html). So, when you point a browser to a non-specific file such as www.homestarrunner.com - it's really going to open up the index.htm file it finds in the site's root folder.

However, if you point to a specific html file, such as http://homestarrunner.com/sbemail.html - Explorer calls off the index search.

  1. Create a new folder called your last name. No spaces, no first initial, nothing but your last name, please.
  2. Move your history.html and the lists.html file into the new folder.
  3. Start Notepad and save a new file as index.htm in the last name folder.
  4. Get the proper Head/Title/Body text into your index file.
